Be My Guest at the Best Food Event of the Year: Savor Dallas!

2015 Post-Event Update: I no longer recommend attending this event. It has been steadily declining for the past the three years to the point where the 2015 event was not worth going to. Here's why: None of the media reviewers I see there every year or strangers I talked to in line were wowed by the creativity and flavor in any of the dishes this year. This downhill trend started at the 2013 event and has culminated in zero "wows" in 2015. It's nearly the same vendors every year. It seems more of them have figured out they need to make the food ahead of time. Perhaps that explains why taste and creativity has suffered. Although I don't understand why they haven't also learned to bring more food because every year a quarter of the booths run out of food one hour before the event ends and almost no one has food with 30 minutes left. The ticket price used to be cheaper and a good value with several really creative and delicious dishes to try, but $120 ticket price per person is not even remotely worth what you get now. I recommend spending that money on the much tastier and more creative food at any of the reputable restaurants in Dallas.

This weekend is my favorite weekend of the year, Savor Dallas! I look forward to this food event like some people look forward to Thanksgiving; the epic scale of unlimited food and drink surpasses any holiday, hands down!

This will be my third year attending, and truly, it is the best food event I have been to anywhere in the country. I can't say enough amazing things about Savor Dallas, and I don't have time to either, but the most exciting part is that I have a free guest pass for someone to attend with me on Saturday or Sunday!

Winner #1: International Grand Tasting pass, valued at $110

Sample unlimited food from over 60 of the very best restaurants and chefs in DFW, plus over 400 wines, beers, and spirits brands serving unlimited tastings. You won't find a national franchise restaurant here! Includes keepsake crystal wine glass. Winner must be available to meet me at the lobby of the Irving Convention Center (in Las Colinas) media table at 6:30 p.m on Saturday, March 16. The event is 7-10 p.m. Come starving! There is so much to eat you can't try it all!

Winner #2: Savor the Arboretum pass, valued at $65

This is a new event this year, and it is at the Dallas Arboretum, which should be looking very nice in the glorious weather this weekend. Includes unlimited food, wine, and beer tastings from great restaurants and keepsake crystal wine glass. Winner must be available to meet me at the Dallas Arboretum at the media table at 5:45 p.m on Sunday, March 17. The event is 6-8 p.m. Come hungry!

To Enter:

All you have to do is sign up for my blog email alerts. It's quick and easy! Look for the "Free Blog Updates" email box on my blog sidebar and be sure to enter a valid email address so I can contact you if you win. I will pick two winners and email them the good news on Saturday at noon.

If I don't hear from the winners within one hour, then I will pick a new winner, and so on. The email will come from Dallas_Foodie@, so be on the lookout at noon. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or any other option. I will update this blog when the winners are confirmed.

If you don't win, I highly recommend buying a ticket. These events haves sold out before, even though the expand capacity every year. I receive free media passes to attend, but if you only spend $110 on one meal a year, the Savor Dallas International Grand Tasting is THE ticket to do it. The variety and experience just can't be beat!

UPDATE:
Both winners have been confirmed! Thanks to all who entered. Be sure to watch my social media channels for lots of food photos tonight and tomorrow!
